Inclusive playground

Additional public work designed and registered with the Municipality, connected to the implementation of the interventions referred to in the ARE1 Implementation Plan

A playground designed to meet the needs of children with disabilities, ensuring their participation in informal and recreational after-school periods, promoting social integration through principles of equity and accessibility. The project is aligned with Article 7 of the “UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities” which emphasizes the need to ensure full enjoyment of human rights and fundamental freedoms for minors with disabilities. The design follows the technical standards of the sector to ensure safety and functionality, such as the EN 1176 and EN 1177 standards, but also adheres to design principles that promote inclusion without separating the play areas. The area is made up of several interconnected thematic zones, which vary in height and offer multiple stimuli and activities, from playing with water and sand, to musical instruments and spaces for motor and sensory development. Each area is designed to be fully accessible and to facilitate interaction between all children. The location of the playground was chosen to maximize integration into the existing urban context, making it a point of reference for various parts of the territory.
